A Brochureware Site describes a
web site where detailed product information is provided
in a style representative of the existing product
brochure. Providing a comfortable and seamless
transition to the web for existing staff and clients.
As
with printed materials, brochureware is designed to
provide a robust lifespan. Displaying detailed
product information whislt avoiding regularly
changing details that would require increased maintenance/update
expenses. (eg. The specifications of the product would
be displayed, but not the number of stock on hand.)
This approach to web design provides
excellent entry-level transition to the web for
many small businesses. Allowing for product interogation,
order forms, mailing lists, newsletters, technical
support, document ditribution and communication; without
the need for internal database/accounts integration
or the expense of on-line transaction systems.
Brochureware sites cost between
$750 to $3400 (AUD) to develop, depending on the
number of pages, added interactive features, quality
of existing assets, cost of new asset acquisition
(photo's and copy writing).
